January 2009 was a most amazing month.  First of all, it is always wonderful to start a New Year…  and then this January was extra special, with the Inauguration of Barak Obama as our President.  It was an awesome moment in time.  And since his arrival at the White House, there has been a different tone, one which resonates with me.  I am looking forward to seeing how his leadership evolves.

Unfortunately, I have, with all the excitement of holidays and such, been very remiss about keeping up with our blog.  I think that every now and then someone comes to visit.  I hope that we will stay in touch, even if it is only intermittently.

November 4, 2008

This is a great day for the United States of America.  This is the most exciting election that I have ever witnessed, and I am very happy!  :)   To all my friends at MBN who might still sometimes look at this blog, you know how much this means to me.  We are seeing history written here.

a quick update

I have been thinking about Marrakech, SYBA and MBN so much these last few days, as I know that you have celebrated the end of Ramadan.  Eid Mbrok!  I miss you all very much and hope to see you in 2009 sometime.

I am happy to see that Mohamed and Kamal have been keeping their blogs alive.  We will have to try to catch up here!

But life had other things in mind for me this year: I have spent more time than usual in New Hampshire… and at long last my husband is improving and regaining some of the use of his hands.

I would love to hear how the summer months have gone and what the plans are for this new year that is about to begin. I know that, for many of us, this fall will bring with it lots of changes, including schools and jobs. And I am burning with curiosity to find out how the Bac went for all of our Moroccan friends. It would be so nice to hear from everyone…

votre prof qui pense bien à vous

…but my hopes are high that this blog will continue through the summer months, especially since we will all have a bit more time.  Kamal has just posted a very powerful video that he put together.  I recommend that everyone watch it, though it might not be easy to watch, as he says.  It will provoke some discussion, but is not this what we are all about: the exchange of ideas to come to better understanding?

Natalie, Bridget and Sophie (who has posted a wonderful photo of summer fun at St. Paul’s) have some news to share. We are hoping that some of our Moroccan friends will be able to continue writing over the summer…

SPS has published a little report on the Fulbright experiences that Mr. K and I had in NH.

…bringing with it inspiration from Marrakech. We have even more new postings from Mr. K, Tarik and Anas. This is the best antidote for pre-exam stress as far as I can tell.

I know that we are all working hard on either side of the Atlantic. It is still fun to stay in touch. I am so glad that Soumiya has joined our family with some great video clips to watch…

Imagine my delight when I discovered today that Majjida, Kamal, Yasser and Mohamed C have all been very busy with new articles. There are wonderful things to read, laugh and smile at and of course think about.

I look forward to more postings: it makes for a great break from the academic grind sometimes, because we smile and think about other things, and then we can go back to our work with more vigor Même quand on est stressés (comme Julia), ça nous fait du bien.  :)

PS: Mr. K has posted quite a joke on his page!

updates
